Spring Campout 2017

Gettysburg - Camp Conewago
450 Boy Scout Road, New Oxford, PA 17350

WHEN:    May 5th - 7th
COST:    $15 per person, $5 for active military with ID
 (Cost includes admission to Gettysburg Museum and Visitor Center)
DEADLINE:  Sign up to the right by May 1st.


Medical Forms:
  • Every camper must download the 2014 BSA Medical form below.
  • IF you filled out a form for the fall campout and did not designate it for shredding, we have your form.  Otherwise, fill it out.
  • Please make a copy of your medical insurance card (front and back).
  • Put the 3-4 pieces of paper in a standard envelope, seal it, and write the person's name on the front.
* All medical forms are for the sole purpose of giving to the local hospital in the event of an emergency in which the parent is not available or incapacitated. Once the trip is over, all envelopes are shredded, unopened, by the Committee Chair. This is why we ask for only a small number of sheets of paper inside each envelope!

Activity Consent Form:

  • Every scout/minor child must complete the activity consent and hold harmless agreement is a separate, less sensitive document.  Please do not put this in your sealed, medical form envelope as this will be filed and left home, then shredded after the trip.

Forms are due in the Cub Scout bin at 7110 Newberry Drive no later than 5/1!

CAMPING ITINERARY (subject to change):

Friday, 5 May:
1700 - 1930 Pack Arrival / Den or Family Dinners
1930 - 2100 Den camp fires (Den Leaders to organize)
2100 - Lights out
2100 - 2130 Leaders Meeting

Saturday, 6 May:
0700 - 0900 Den Breakfast and clean up
0900 - 0930 Flag Ceremony and welcome (Cubmaster)
0930 - 1000 Travel to Gettysburg
1000 - 1200 Group Activity at Gettysburg Visitor Center, including Cyclorama
1200 - 1400 Explore battlefield with Dens/Small groups
1400 - 1700 Den Activities
1730 - 1845 Pack Dinner
1845 - ?       Free time
?       - 2100 Pack Fire

Sunday, 7 May:
0700 - 0800 Breakfast
0800 - 1000 Pack and Den Site clean up
1000 - Break Camp

Purchase Qty. of the appropriate item for each person.

In the "Optional note or special instructions section" at checkout, please note how many scouts, siblings and adults will be attending so we can plan for the Saturday meal.
