Location:  C&O National Park - Great Falls, Maryland

Distance from Columbia:  36 miles; approximately 45 minutes

Start time:  1 pm from the Great Falls Tavern Visitor Center.  

Description:  We will hike from the visitor center out to Olmsted Island for a view of  Great Falls. From there, we will circle back and hike along the river and the C&O Canal. Families may then explore other trails on their own.

Lunch:  Please bring a bag lunch if you like, and a bottle of water for the hike.

What Each Scout Must Bring:  Sun screen, proper clothing, a bottle of water, and a snack (if desired). 

Uniform:  Class "B" (and appropriate clothing for the weather).
