Harper's Ferry - 4/1/17

We will be hiking approximately 4 miles in beautiful Harper's Ferry.  Our plan is to meet at the park's parking lot at 10:30 am (more exact details later).  The hike will take a few hours (1 mile/hr is good guidance for hiking speed in a mixed group of cub scouts) so please pack a bag lunch to eat along the way.

Please sign up below by 3/29 so we don't leave without you if you are running a few minutes late!

• Meet at the Harper's Ferry Visitor's Center (171 Shoreline Dr, Harpers Ferry, WV 25425) by 10:30 am.
• We'll coordinate shuttle rides for everyone to downtown Harper's Ferry (drops off at 177 Shenandoah Street). The shuttles run continuously from 9am to 6pm. The distance is about a 1.8 mile walk or 2 minute shuttle ride.
• Hike .7 miles along the C&O Canal to the trailhead of Maryland Heights.
• Hike 1.4 miles to the peak of Maryland Heights.  This isn't an easy hike, but it's short and there's an amazing view of Harper's Ferry at the end.  
• The return hike should be quicker as it is downhill.
• Afterwards everyone can explore the town and walk around afterwards.
